Role of an Individual in the Society
"Single Person can make the difference and enable the world to see its Presence"
An Individual is a single person of the society possessing aggregate of distinctive qualities and characteristics, that distinguish him from other people of the society and shows his individuality. Individuality is what make people different from one person to another. Although people are different yet they feel a need to belong to a society. In a society, a person can think and do what he wants. Which has direct effect on the development or destruction of a society. All people have work in co-ordination in the country, which is the most important thing. Every person is the representative of his country. The progress and development of a country depends on every person.
There are two types of individuals good or bad, both have great impact in the progress or devastation of a society. Good Individuals are adorable in the society while bad are hateful in the society.
When a society is in a bleak situation and there is no hope on the streets and no one feels safe then what should we do as an individual of a society. Then we should strive to change the situation as said in this famous saying:
"Big changes start with small steps"
The question is the who will bring the change? What an individual can do? The answer is simple, we ourselves have to bring the change and a single can make a very large impact. If a Single person is Muhammad Ali Jinnah then, he can carve out a country on the map of the world. Similarly if he is Alexander the Great, then he can conquer the whole world. The history shows many examples of single individuals who did great deeds. Although a single person need other people who assist him in his job, but the point is that who will take initiative and will be the first drop of rain. There is always importance of person who takes initiative.
"There is no limit what you can imagine, and with commitment and effort, what you can imagine you can become. Put your mind to work for you, believe that you can do it, The world will tell you that you can't, Yet in your belief you will find the strength, ability to do it anyway".
Sir Syed Ahmed Khan said, " It is the principle of nature that government on a nation is always according to their collective behavior. (Muqalat-e-Sir-Syed copy 5)
A nation's development is a collection of individuals hard work, respect, honesty and sympathy. Like wise a nation's deterioration is a collection of individuals selfishness and badness. We cannot change our national situation until we do not change our personal life and behavior. If this perception is right then be honest and sincere to your country and nation.
"If we love our country, we should love our country men".
If we ponder on it that how our nation's life and attitude can be best to become a respectful nation. When every person can change his intrinsic behavior then living with this hope that some external person or force will change us, is an absurd thought. There is a famous saying,
"We cannot change attitude of others but we can change our own attitude".
The stress to change behavior and manner of an individual shows, that the first step we have to take is to change our own behavior, thought and acts personally.
"Fight from yourself everyday to make your character more and more better".
The above quote gives lesson to everyone to change himself. When we are small, we are trained to write with pencil and later on with Pen, because mistakes made at start are allowed to be erased but later on are not allowed to be erased.
"Keep correcting your little mistakes because, no one slips down by hills but just slips by little stones".
We need to change our education system and education must be made compulsory and feasible for everyone. Education is the only way to transform uncivilized people to civilized people, and these civilized people will play a positive role in the society.
"Education is the preparation of body and soul for life".
On of the most important thing is to change our thoughts, J. K. Rowling said,
"It is not abilities that shows what we truly are, its our choices".
The importance of constructive and educated mind can be proved by comparison of "King Edward" and "King Shah Jahan". Wives of both died of "Polycystic Ovary Syndrome" in the same year. Both Kings immensely loved their wives, both had a different way of expressing it. "Shah Jahan" spent billions to built "Taj Mahal" in memory of his beloved wife while "King Edward" built the "University for Research" proclaiming that no one else should die of this disease which has snatched his beloved wife.
The famous author of boy Wizard Harry Potter, "J. K. Rowling" gave 15.4 Million Dollars to set up a center for research on "Multiple Sclerosis", the disease that killed her mother. "Multiple Sclerosis" is at time incurable disease and it affects about 100,000 people in Britain and Scotland. The writer said that "Anne Rowling Regenerative neurology clinic" named after her mother will be based at the "University of Edinburgh" in Scotland. She said, she is a longtime resident of Scottish capital and began writing Harry Potter books when she was a cash-strapped single mother in the city. Edinburgh has given me so very much that i have been looking for a way to give something meaningful back to the city for a long time.
Such differences of thinking determines the cause of rise or fall of nations.
Today in this modern age people are selfish, materialistic and cruel. Man seems to be indifferent and cold towards the good of others. Everyone thinks of his immediate interest and ignores his long term benefits, but this is his self-deception. He is his own enemy.
The sum and substance of the discussion is that today what we need is to change ourselves because being contributing member of a society everyone has to play its role and by giving back to your society you can improve it.
"Be like a candle which burns itself but gives light to others".
